Rovigliano

The last morning I went to see my loved Sarno river to its mouth, in the locality Rovigliano.
The love for our land and for our sea from us  is in the evident neglect in which we keep these places, so much praised by poets, writers and painters since ancient times .
We are talking about the ancient Stabia and the ancient Oplontis.
I caught a glimpse of the old little soccer pitch where we as children played many epic games.
Now there are only weeds and neglect, while in the background Vesuvius looks severe.
